About Christopher

Christopher Barrett Politan is the principal of Give, Get, Grow— a consulting and philanthropic advisory firm.  

His client focus has traditionally been within organizations working on cultural, LGBTQ+, environmental, and human + social service concerns. An experienced strategist, advisor, and management consultant, Christopher has worked with organizations and individuals throughout the nonprofit sector across the United States. For nearly 25 years, his work with social impact leaders and organizations has been grounded in a deep understanding that it is tough work leading an organization while trying to address challenges facing a changing world. Leaders work daily to address specific and multifaceted problems, while remaining attuned to bigger and more global issues. Christopher’s work seeks to provide insight, counsel, coaching, and strategy for creating a sustainable, innovative, and more deeply engaged sector.

Christopher is passionate about the work of social impact leaders and organizations as agents for change. His work has allowed him to collaborate with tremendous thought leaders within the community from across the country. This work is rooted in change management; providing organizations with the tools and strategy to help them to reach their goals, expand their visions, and work more deeply with their communities.

In addition to his work, Christopher is a long serving member of several nonprofit boards and presently serves as the board secretary and Strategic Planning Chair of Chicago Dancemakers Forum—an organization providing annual unrestricted grants to choreographers and Dancemakers in Chicago. Additionally, he serves as the Strategic Planning Chair for DVLF—a grant making organization for the LGBTQ+ community in the Delaware Valley region.

Christopher also has the pleasure of serving as an advisory board member of a new venture fund - Colorful Capital - bringing capital support to enterprises founded and led by members of the broad LGBTQ+ community.

A life-long competitive swimmer, Christopher has coached masters athletes to national and world records in Washington, DC, New York City, and Chicago. After 16 years of coaching, he is delighted to be back in the water as a swimmer.

Christopher lives on Philadelphia's Main Line with and spends lots of time with Tess, Pepper, Sally, Earl Grey and Norman!
